If you're not sure on what exactly branding assets are, don't worry! In this blog we are going to go over what exactly brand assets are along with why they are so important for your business!

First, let's go over what they are. Typically, assets are visual art/graphics like logos, typefaces, packaging, images, and illustrations! When you're in the branding stage of your business, you want to make sure that all of your branding assets correlate with each other and create a somewhat "emotional" connection to your audience. If you want a "fun" vibe, your brand assets would include smiley face illustrations and if you're going for a "techy" vibe, you will have circuit board designs used as an accent!

However, keep in mind, just because a smiley face can be associated with a "fun" vibe, doesn't mean that it should be used, you want to make sure that it still gives off a unique sense to set you apart from other businesses in your industry! Another important thing to think about is your target audience (age group, location, men or women, etc.).

Why Brand Assets Are So Important:

To get straight to the point, assets increase awareness, improve your marketing ROI and strengthen your brand identity. Let's use Starbucks as an example. Their logo is memorable and unique, their brand colors match well together, their wordmark/typeface is bold but simple/modern for readability, and even though they redesigned their logo a few times, it still kept the symbol of the Starbucks iconic Siren illustration. Now if you're like me and ask, "why did they choose a siren??", just think about what a Siren is typically associated as - alluring & exotic. This brings a message to their target audience that their coffee and other drinks are exactly that - alluring & exotic! I hope this gives you some insight as to why brand assets are so important and why they should be a main focus when establishing your business brand!
